Welcome to another addition of wrestling wrap. Today I would like to focus on TNA and their move back to Thursdays. I might be in the minority here, but I think this is a good thing for TNA. This was a mistake from the beginning. It was the worst timing as the WWE was rolling going into Wrestlemania and they had never been better. In fact I will say that was the best the WWE has been in a good 3 or 4 years. Wrestlemania 26 was the most anticipated Wrestlemania in years and TNA was running into a storm that they couldn't get out of. The ratings were not good and last week's TNA rating opposite the draft was the worst they ever had.
Simply put. TNA cannot compete with the WWE. And if they think they can, they will lose big time. This was the first step and now Thursdays will be TNA night. Will the ratings climb now? I think they will a bit, but if they really want the ratings to climb, they must go live. With blogs and websites, it's so easy to read the spoilers. If they went live, it would be worth watching much more. Either way I will be watching Thursday nights.
One quick note on TNA. The opening segment between Jay Lethal and Ric Flair was off the page and the best thing that happened on Monday night. I always love the "Black Machismo" character, but his impression of "The Nature Boy" was about as good as you can get. If you haven't seen it, it's must watch television. And Flair's rebuttal of him being "God" was intense and so real that it gave me goosebumps. Of course TNA ruined it by having everyone come to the ring and then have 80 year old Hulk Hogan limping down to beat up everyone. TNA seems so close to something really good, but just when you think maybe, they crap all over it. I'm hoping one day they can see the light, cause they have the right mix of veterans and young stars to do something special. Let's hope they can, cause it will just be better for all us true wrestling fans.
