RAW

Last night was draft night on RAW, and yes I was more excited for this draft than the NFL draft. I love sports, but my heart is into wrestling. I will spend all day watching wrestling classics on demand and be a very happy 39 year old man. But I digress.

As far as the show goes, I thought the show was solid with some really good matches. Christian/Jericho, Bourne/Punk, and Swagger/Morrison. I loved the title change with the Hart Dynasty and even the triple threat match. But for me, the draft sucked. First, I hate they way they do it like some lottery. How about what they did the first year of the draft? Any one remember? Well the gm's (Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman at the time) would come out after the matches and pick who they wanted. Now I know what you're going to say, they will just pick each other's best wrestlers and champions. You know what I say to that? So what? It would feel fresh and exciting and real..(I know wrestling is somewhat fake) and Smackdown wouldn't get killed like it did last night. There are only four legitimate superstars on Smackdown: Undertaker, CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, and to a lesser extent the champ Jack Swagger. That is it. Smackdown last night was screwed. Big Show, Kelly Kelly, Christian, and Kofi Kingston. Meanwhile Raw gets Edge, Jericho and Morrisson. Raw is loaded while it will be a tough watch on Fridays. I can only hope that they make major pushes for Christian and Kofi.

One quick note on TNA. I know they got a horrible rating last night, but I thought a decent show and I like where the product is going right now. But the bad news is with the additions of the 3 above, Raw will keep continuing to bury TNA in the ratings.

Wrestler of the Week: Hart Dynasty for winning the tag titles.

  1. I agree about how they draft, it was bad and yes RAW won out and SMACKDOWN got the shaft on it. The Hart Dynasty winning the titles was great but not as great as Big Show knockin' out Miz, lol. On the TNA note, what I have caught of it...I actually enjoyed...on nights that RAW is dragging a$$-which is more than I care to admit-I switch to TNA, people should really give it more of a chance.
